Kidypaint is made by Small Victories (Marijn Vandevoorde, Belgium) and published on Google Play under the package name co.smallvictories.kidypaint.
This policy explains what data Kidypaint handles, why, and what leaves the device.
What data Kidypaint handles
Photos and colouring projects. When you pick a photo from your library or take a new one with the camera, Kidypaint processes it entirely on your device to create a colour-by-number project. The original photo, the processed outline, and your colouring progress are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to a server, never shared with third parties, and never used for any purpose other than letting you colour the project.
Camera. The camera permission is used only when you tap the “take photo” button inside Kidypaint to start a new project. The camera is not accessed at any other time. Captured photos are treated exactly like library-picked photos: processed on device, stored privately in the app, never transmitted.
Photo library (gallery) access. When you tap “pick from gallery”, Kidypaint asks your device for access to the single photo you pick. It does not read other photos, does not scan your library, and does not upload the photo you pick.
What leaves the device
Crash reports (Sentry). If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, Kidypaint sends an anonymous crash report to Sentry.io so the developer can diagnose and fix the bug. A crash report contains:
- A technical description of the error (stack trace).
- The version of the app, the model of the device, and the OS version.
- Non-personal breadcrumbs describing what the app was doing just before the crash (e.g. “started processing photo”).
A crash report does not contain the photo, the colouring progress, your name, your email, your location, your device identifier, or any other personally identifying information. Crash reports are retained by Sentry for 90 days and then deleted.
Crash reporting is only active when the app was built with a Sentry DSN; in builds without one (e.g. local development builds) no data is sent anywhere.
Sentry’s own privacy practices are documented at https://sentry.io/privacy/.
What Kidypaint does not do
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no ad identifiers.
- No analytics tracking of user behaviour.
- No user accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No location access.
- No microphone access.
- No data shared with or sold to third parties.
- No in-app purchases or payment data.
Children
Kidypaint is designed with children in mind and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The only data ever leaving the device is an anonymous crash report (described above), and only when the app has crashed.
Your rights
Because Kidypaint does not collect personal information, there is nothing to request, export, or delete on our side. If you want to remove the app’s local data (photos and projects), uninstalling Kidypaint wipes them from the device.
If you want any crash reports tied to your device removed before Sentry’s automatic 90-day expiry, email the address below and we will request deletion.
