The Best Google Meet Chrome Extension in the World is made by Small Victories BV (Belgium) and published on the Chrome Web Store: [The Best Google Meet Chrome Extension in the World](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/the-best-google-meet-chro/flbledklpjgejhffpigaakdonlhigdca).

This policy is short because there is very little to say: **the extension collects nothing, and sends nothing anywhere.**

## What the extension does

It only runs on Google Meet (meet.google.com), and it does three things:

- It replaces the background of your camera image with a solid colour. Telling you apart from your background happens in your browser, with a model that ships inside the extension.
- It can mix background music into your microphone: one of the three tracks that come with it, or an audio file you pick yourself.
- While the music plays, it switches off Meet's noise cancellation ("studio sound"), which would otherwise filter the music out, and puts the setting back afterwards. It does that through Meet's own settings screen, the same way you would.

## What leaves your browser

Nothing. Your camera image and microphone sound are processed in your browser and only go where Google Meet sends them anyway: to the people in your call. The extension itself makes no network connections. It has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no accounts, and we never receive anything from it.

## What is stored in your browser

The extension keeps a few things in Chrome's local extension storage, so it behaves the same next time:

- Whether background replacement is on.
- Which music track you chose, and the audio file itself if you picked your own.
- Whether it switched off Meet's studio sound and still has to switch it back on, and how that last went.

This stays on your device. It is not accessible to us or to anyone else, and you can delete it at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser data. Whether the music is on is never stored: it starts off in every meeting.

## Permissions

The extension asks for these, and uses them only for what is described above:

- **Access to meet.google.com.** To add the background and the music to your call. It runs on no other site.
- **Storage, without the usual size limit.** For the settings listed above, and so your own audio file fits.
- **Modify page headers on Google Meet.** It removes Meet's content security policy so it can load its own background and audio code into the page.
- **Active tab.** So the toolbar popup can talk to your Meet tab.
- **Camera and microphone.** Asked by Google Meet, not by the extension. The extension works inside the Meet page, with the access you gave Meet.

## What the extension does _not_ do

- No data collection, analytics or tracking of any kind.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No advertising.
- No data shared with or sold to third parties.
- No recording of your camera or microphone.

## Children

The extension does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
