Brush Buddy Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Brush Buddy is made by Small Victories BV (Belgium) and published on Google Play under the package name co.smallvictories.brushbuddy and on the App Store.

This policy is short because there is very little to say: Brush Buddy collects nothing, and sends nothing anywhere.

What leaves the device

Nothing. Brush Buddy has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no accounts. The Android app does not declare the INTERNET permission at all, which means the operating system itself prevents it from making any network connection. The iPhone and iPad app contains no networking code. The entire app — the code, the fonts, the animated characters — ships inside the download and is read from local storage while you brush.

A practical consequence: Brush Buddy works exactly the same in aeroplane mode, on a tablet with no SIM, or in a bathroom with no signal.

What is stored on your device

Brush Buddy remembers a few things locally so it behaves sensibly between brushes:

These live in the app’s private storage on your own device. They are not an account, they are not tied to you or your child, and they are never sent to us. Like other app data, they can be included in your device’s own backup (Google or iCloud), which stays in your account. Uninstalling Brush Buddy deletes them from the device.

Permissions

On Android, Brush Buddy requests exactly one permission:

Vibration. Used to buzz gently when it is time to move to the next part of the mouth, so the cue still lands when the phone is face-down on the sink. It grants no access to any data, and Android does not even prompt for it.

On iPhone and iPad, Brush Buddy asks for no permissions at all, and doesn’t vibrate.

There is no camera access, no microphone access, no location access, no contacts access, no photo library access, and no network access.

What Brush Buddy does not do

Children

Brush Buddy is designed for children and is intended to be used alongside a parent or carer. It does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all and cannot transmit data off the device.

Your rights

Because Brush Buddy holds no personal data and transmits nothing, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete — we have never received anything to begin with. To remove the app’s local data (streak, stars and preferences), uninstalling Brush Buddy wipes it from the device.
